وصف الحالة التدميرية للزلزال حسب الدرجةnight some awakened, dishes, windows, doors disturbed. Walls make creaking sound. Sensation like heavy truck striking building. Standing motor cars rocked noticeably.
في النهار، سكنة الدور يشعرون بها، بينما الناس في الشوارع يشعرون بها بشكل أقل. وفي الليل يستيقظ الناس والأشياء الخفيفة تتكسر، والجدران تصدر أصوات، والشعور كأن البناية صدمت بشيء ثقيل، والآليات تتحرك أقوى.
V - Felt by nearly every one: many awakened. Some dishes, window, etc. broken: a few instance of cracked plaster: unstable objects overturned. Disturbances of trees, poles, and other tall objects sometime noticed. Pendulum clocks may stop.
يحس بها أغلب الناس وبعض الأشياء تتكسر وتشقق الإنهاءات وتنقلب الأشياء غير الثابتة وتهتز الأشجار والأشياء الطويلة ويتوقف بندول الساعة.
VI - Felt by all: many. Frightened and run outdoors. Some heavy furniture moved: a few instance of fallen plaster or damaged chimneys. Damage slight.
الجميع يشعر بها وتصاحبه الخوف والهلع والهروب من المنازل وتتطاير بعض الأثاث وتتشقق الأبنية العالية كالمداخن وبعض الإضرار لإنهاءات الجدران.
VII - Every body runs outdoors. Damage negligible in building of good design and construction, slight to moderate in well - built ordinary structures, considerable in poorly built or badly designed structures, some chimneys broken. Notice by persons driving motor cars.
الجميع يهرعون خارجا والأبنية الجيدة تبقى والوسط تضررها أكبر والضعيفة تتضرر بشدة مع تكسر المداخن.
VIII - damage slightly in specially design structure, considerable in ordinary substantial buildings. With partial collapse great in poorly built structures. Panel wall thrown out of frame structures. Fell of chimneys, factory stacks, columns, monuments, walls heavy furniture overturned. Sand and mud ejected in small amounts. Changes in well water. Disturbs persons driving motor cars.
الإضرار تشتد وتصبح بدرجة أكبر للبنايات الجيدة وخطرة للوسطى وسقوط الأبنية الضعيفة والجدران الداخلية وتمايل شديد للبنايات العالية وسقوط المداخن وقذف بعض الرمال والأطيان.
