وصف الحالة التدميرية للزلزال حسب الدرجةXI - Damage considerable in specially designed structures; well - designed frame structures thrown out of plumb, great in substantial building, with partial collapse. Building shited off foundations. Ground cracked conspicuously. Underground pipes broken.
أضرار خطيرة للبنايات الجيدة وسقوط بعض الهياكل، والأبنية الأقل درجة يسقط قسم كبير منها وزحف الأبنية عن أسسها وتشقق الأرض وتتكسر الأنابيب المدفونة.
X - Some well - built, wooden structures destroyed; with foundation; ground badly cracked. Rails bent. Landslides considerable from river banks and steep slops, Shifted sand and mud. Water splashed over bank.
تهشم بعض الأبنية وخصوصا الخشبية مع أسسها وتشقق الأرض وانحناء سكك الحديد وانزلاق الأرض مع حافة النهر وانفصال الطين عن الرمال.
XI - Few, if any( masonry )structures remain standing. Bridges destroyed. Broad fissures in ground. Underground pipelines completely out of service. Earth slumps and land slips in soft ground. Rails bent greatly.
تهدم الجسور والأبنية عموما وتكسر الأجزاء المدفونة والسكك وانزلاق شديد جدا للأرض.
XII - Damage total. Waves seen on ground surfaces. Lines of sight and level distorted. Objects thrown upward into the air.
تهدم كامل ومشاهدة موجات الهزة على سطح الأرض وتشوه شديد للرؤيا وقذف الأشياء الثقيلة والخفيفة بعيدا في الفضاء.
